INFO: Dreamweaver FTP configuration for publishing

Applies To:

  • Linux Web Hosting

Description:

To publish your Dreamweaver website it is necessary to define a 'Server' in your 'Site Setup'. The model settings detailed below assume your domain name is example123.co.uk, substitute for your domain without including the www prefix as shown in green when entering in your configuration:

  • Server Name: www.example123.co.uk
  • Connect using: FTP
  • FTP Address: ftp.example123.co.uk
  • Port: 21
  • Username: <ftp username>
  • Password: <ftp password>
  • Save: Tick
  • Root Directory: /domains/example123.co.uk/public_html
  • Web URL: http://www.example123.co.uk

The FTP username and password were included in the 'new service' email sent when activating your hosting account. If you have misplaced them you can retrieve them via the 'Services' section of the Client Portal.

Important:

Ensure you enter the 'Root Directory' in the format specified above otherwise Dreamweaver will not locate your public_html folder. Failure to do this will result in Dreamweaver being unable to synchronise (publish) your website.
