HOWTO: Add an Alias to a mailbox

Description:

To create an alias, sometimes referred to as a forwarder, it is first necessary to create an Essential Email mailbox. 

To add an alias to an existing mailbox:

  1. Logon to the Client Portal
  2. Click 'Services' then 'Email Hosting'
  3. Click the 'Essential Email' service name
  4. Click 'Mailboxes' then 'Edit' next to the mailbox that will be the destination
  5. Click 'Add new Alias Name'
  6. Enter the required forwarder (e.g. test123)
  7. Click 'Edit Mailbox'

The alias will now be listed on the mailboxes summary page.
