FixedIP (Static IP) use with Starlink

Applies to:

  • fixedIP

Description:

Our team tested using an L2TP tunnel via a Starlink connection on 12th February 2026 during which we were able to connect to the Internet using the Static IPv4 address provided by the fixedIP service.

The fixedIP service provides a static IP via an L2TP tunnel established from your computer or firewall/router device. It requires an internet connection that provides IPv4 based access to the Internet that permits UDP traffic to be sent/received. In simple terms, this include any routed Internet access whether it provides you a dynamic IPv4 address or access via Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT). CGNAT is used by many mobile broadband, satellite broadband and some fixed FTTP broadband providers.

This compatibility test represents a point in time usage of the fixedIP service with Starlink. As the service uses standard UDP ports to facilitatewe have no reason to believe compatibility will change but as Starlink is a third-party service we cannot guarantee compatibility will not change.
